2 ways to get started
Single department or entire company
4 phases
Understand, Design, Implement, Embed
100 days
Through to the first visible pilot in one area
Modular
Services available individually or as a combination
01 / Choose the right scope
One department or the whole company?
Not every challenge calls for a major programme – and not every problem can be solved locally. We’ll first work with you to establish the scope that best fits your needs.
OPTION A / SINGLE AREA
Targeted transformation
An area or process chain is restructured—with a clear goal, its own pilot, and a measurable outcome.
Typical areas
Development Industrialization & Launch Purchasing & Suppliers QualityOperations Project & Program Management
A good fit when
- the cause lies mainly within one area or at an interface
- rapid, visible results are needed
- a template is needed for future areas
Typical timeframe → 100 days to pilot, followed by stabilisation and handover
OPTION B / ENTIRE COMPANY
Company-wide Transformation
Strategy, organization, processes, systems and leadership are aligned around a shared vision and managed as a program.
Typical Triggers
New strategy Growth & integration Cost pressure New markets or products Digitalization & AI
A good fit when
- multiple departments limiting performance at the same time
- the business model or value creation changes
- local improvements have already been exhausted
Typical timeframe → 12–18 months or more, rollout in waves
In many cases, our recommendation is to start where the potential for impact is greatest—while keeping the overall system in view. This delivers quick results without creating new silos. A successful area becomes a blueprint for the next.
Identify Areas for Action
When is transformation worthwhile?
Transformation changes how the organization, processes, data, systems, leadership and culture interact—not just a tool or a single process. This is what distinguishes it from digitalization, reorganization or change management alone, each of which can be part of it.
Delivering results under pressure
Cost, quality, on-time delivery or lead times are limiting competitiveness.
Interfaces are stalling
Silos, slow decisions and unclear accountability hold up implementation.
Data and systems don’t fit together
Disjointed systems and inconsistent data prevent end-to-end processes.
Requirements increase
Customers, markets, regulation and sustainability demand new capabilities.
When several issues occur at the same time, local improvements are usually no longer enough.
02 / What Designature Takes On
Services that work together
Choose the building blocks you need – from a concise assessment to support throughout the entire program. Each building block ends with a tangible outcome.
01 / DIAGNOSIS
Starting point & maturity level
Causes, not symptoms: We analyse processes, interfaces, data and organisation, and establish a measurable baseline.
Outcome → Baseline, areas for action, priorities
02 / VISION
Target Operating Model
How will the department or company operate in the future? Roles, processes, decision-making paths, data and systems are aligned.
Outcome → Aligned target vision and gaps versus current status
03 / DECISION
Roadmap & Business Case
Prioritize measures by benefit, effort, risk and dependencies. Combine quick wins with structural change.
Outcome → Approval-ready roadmap
04 / CONTROL
Transformation Office & PMO
Manage timing, maturity, risks, dependencies and decisions transparently—drawing on our experience in technical project and program management.
Outcome → Effective governance, clear reporting
05 / IMPLEMENTATION
Processes, Suppliers & Digitalization
We support pilots and rollouts on site: stabilising processes, engaging interfaces and suppliers, then targeted digitisation and automation.
Outcome → New way of working in stable operation
06 / ENABLEMENT
Change
Engage stakeholders, empower leaders and build team capabilities with training from Designature Academy, tailored to your transformation.
Outcome → buy-in and expertise within your own team
03 / The Designature Approach
4 phases. 12 steps. For every scope.
The same approach works for a single area or a company-wide program—the only differences are the depth and duration. Each step ends with an outcome or a decision.
PHASE 01
Understand
Why do we need to act?
01 Scope & Mandate
02 Current State & Maturity Assessment
03 Target Vision & Business Case
PHASE 02
Design
How should it work in the future?
04 Target Operating Model
05 Roadmap & Prioritisation
06 Governance & Roles
PHASE 03
Implement
How does it become reality?
07 Change & Communication
08 Processes, Systems & Pilot
09 Competencies & Leadership
PHASE 04
Embed
How do we make the impact last?
10 Measure impact
11 Rollout & Stabilization
12 Embedding
Cross-functional tasks begin in Step 01: sponsor and interim management, stakeholder engagement, risks and KPIs. They are developed further in later steps—not started only then.
Phase 01 / Steps 01–03
Diagnosis and target vision
First understand the root causes, then define the target vision and investment decision. The first three steps establish a solid basis for decision-making.

|---|---|---|
| Understand | approx. 4 weeks | approx. 2 months |
| Design | approx. 4 weeks | approx. 2 months |
| Implement (pilot) | from day 60 | approx. months 4–8 |
| Embed (Rollout) | 3–6 months | approx. months 8–18 and beyond |
Indicative timeframes. Actual duration depends on scope, starting point, resources and decision-making speed.

Start in one area
The first 100 days
From recognizing the problem to a visible pilot—for a clearly defined area. For company-wide programs, this period generally covers diagnosis and defining the target state.
01–30
STEPS 01–02
Diagnosis
Clarify the mandate and sponsor, and establish initial governance. Assess the baseline, maturity, stakeholders and risks.
31–60
STEPS 03–06
Target vision
Develop a vision and roadmap for the department, refine the business case and secure approval for the pilot.
61–100
STEPS 07–08
Pilot
Launch a pilot, set up a KPI dashboard, and secure implementation with communication, training and quick wins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Good to know
Can we start with a single department?
Yes—this is often the best place to start. We make sure solutions fit the bigger picture, so the department can serve as a blueprint for others.
Does Designature only deliver concepts, or does it also support implementation?
Both. We support you from diagnosis through handover to the production line—and, if required, also provide hands-on support with management, piloting and rollout. We define the scope and roles together.
How is success measured?
At the outset, we establish a baseline using a few meaningful metrics. We continuously demonstrate the value delivered against this starting point—not just at the end.
How does a collaboration get started?
It starts with an initial conversation about the context, objectives and scope. We then recommend the right way to get started—often a focused diagnostic to inform your decision.
